Congratulations as follow:

Congrats to France for becoming the redneck capital of western Europe.
After banning the burqa because they reckon is "demeaning to women" they enforced that law by arresting any women found wearing them... yes, arrest the supposed victims. Because we all know that being arrested is a far more dignified affair than covering your face...

Congrats to Kate Middleton for rearranging social class orders. Apparently, having millionaire parents now makes you "middle class". Right. And the queen lives in a little apartment in London.

Congrats to Electronic Arts for making Shift 2: Unleashed, the sequel to a game that actually looks worse than the original, yet runs at half the speed. It takes a special kind of talent to fuck it up that bad.

Congrats to Pauline Hanson for being too fucking dumb (or just plain ignorant) to understand the meaning of the phrase "dead political career". Maybe she can get a spot on the TV show "Dancing With The Racist Turd".
  • Mood: Pleased
  • Listening to: Aneurisma, Murder By Death.
  • Playing: Crysis 2, Mass Effect 1... again!

Um, an upperclass person here in the UK is defined by having a title. Middleton's parents are middle-class because her mother was a flight attendant and her father an airline officer. Now I don't know about you, but that doesn't really compare to someone with a lordship. The wage her father was on would have undoubtedly pushed them towards the higher end of the middle-class (as a professional) and now, after founding a business of their own that has since become successful, they are very wealthy. This is called having business sense and a whole lot of luck, not having an upper-class status.
Sorry for sounding a bit touchy here, but I felt like it was unfair statement to make about someone who seems to be a nice person :/ especially considering the media circus is the kind of national pick-me-up we really need right now.

Frankly, I feel this is the kind of rubbish that distracts people from real issues. Seriously, is it really going to affect anyone's lives who or who doesn't get married?

no, it won't affect anything in a lasting way :/ but at least there's something to celebrate, even if it is only for a short while!

Eh, the world is slowly spinning down the whirlpool of stupid and soon we'll hit the bottom. Then the world will go "poof" because someone had to touch the shiny red button.
