Yeah, I'm still alive...

Gathering strength and energy by doing other, non drawing, activities:

1)Playing Call Of Duty: Black Ops

Just as I thought the Jingoism and chest beating of Modern Warfare 2 and Medal Of Honour couldn't get worse, now we have COD Black Ops.
Seriously, note to American game developers... THE COLD WAR IS OVER AND IT FINISHED 20 YEARS AGO. GET OVER IT.
It's like a big fucking long piece of 50's American propaganda. The game should just have been called COD: Let's Kill Those Dastardly Communists Because We Are Morally Superior And They Are Pooh-Pooh.
Ah, Coca-Cola, symbol of free West! (with apologies to Alexei Sayle)

2) Mixing dark progressive house for my own listening pleasure.

Fuck you, happy music! I'm living in the dark side... of house music!!!11!!11!!

3)Pork katsu curry

Fuck yeah! Finally a place nearby that makes decent pork katsu curry... ambrosia from heaven.

4) Attempting to cook

...And failing miserably. Screw you, kitchen!
Seriously, why is it so fucking hard to cook?! I mean, I can fry an egg and I can boil rice and shit... but making breakfast with mushrooms and ham and everything else is so incredibly hard! Why does everything have to burn so quickly? Screw you too, science!!

Remember that the guys who made Black Ops are different to the guys who made Modern Warfare. At least in Modern Warfare the SES are the guys who mainly kick arse, not the Americans. Didn't they also stomp on American bravado in the second one?

I'm no expert though - I haven't played it, but ended getting caught up in my other half's gameplay. I'm going by what I've seen and heard.

True story: In trying to cook a baked potato in the microwave I almost blew it up. The potato and probably the microwave :| The point? No point. I just thought I'd try to make you feel better about the lack of cooking skills :giggle:

If you don't like CoD, then why do you still playing it? Seriosly, I wonder why you still haven't noticed that they're unlikely to stop doing this cold-war-crap. I played only CoD: MW and had enough of it. CoD is not like it was before already, so let's forget about it. I don't know about you, but I prefer old games. And "S.T.A.L.K.E.R." is much better than CoD, I guarantee it! :)

COD Modern Warfare 1 was so awesome that I still get tingles when I hear it mentioned. Then it was all down hill from there.

I've been playing Stalker for a while now. Yes, it is awesome but it does feel that the project was too ambitious to take on. There are too many bugs and issues with the mission system, but even so, it's such a clever and awesome game...

Modern Warfare 1 was really awesome. When I saw the scene whare the dying American Marine falls out of the downed helicopter and saw the ruined by nuclear strike city... I was all like this: [link] ...because this was so totally awesome! Man, Imma love dying American Marines! Especially like that one. As for the plot as a whole, uhhh... You're isn't Russian, so we see this situation from two different points and you're a slave of the stereotypes after all. Please do not be offended at me, but it's really how it is. If you were a Russian you'd knew, how crazy this plot really is. This is bullshit. Imma telling it absolutely seriously as a Russian. I guarantee it. Some "black-assed" (as we calling them) guy, a typical Caucasian, yelling something about "Russia is for Russians" (despite the fact that he is not a Russian at all) making some revolution... or something... in the Middle East... and buying Uranium from the CNPP in 1986 to put himself into his black ass... Good Lord, what a mess... and valiant SAS and USMC... blah-blah-blah... mushroms... blah-blah-blah... beer-peace-friendship... and Mi-24 rocks! Do you believe this shit? It's ridiculous! But Imma liked huge word "ХУЙ" on the wall!

As for Stalker... well, "Shadow of Chernobyl" was really unfinished but we liked it anyway, because we saw things that constitute our everyday reality in a very unusual entourage. Because it was the real Russia. Not that Rasha, which is ugly maded by foreign game developers. No... this was the "Great Patriotic Game"... like "Tetris"! And fans of this game made a lot of patches to made "Stalker" almost absolutely free of bugs! "Clear Sky" had incredible graphics, but shitty plot. And it was even more buggy then previouse. I completed it, but I was disappointed. And now we have "Call of Pripyat". Plot became as simpe as it possible, locations became a bit boring and monotonous, but now this game is full of various secondary objections and hidden quests, full of many ways to do some missions... Gameplay became really interesting and now it's finally looks really great! And there is no bugs now!

Well, you see the thing I like about Modern warfare 1 was not the story or lack of realism (Seriously, who in Russia still exclusively use the AK-47 (as legendary it may be) when the AK-74 and newer versions are available?

Nope, the reason I liked Modern Warfare was because it felt you were going about your day job, not raising the flag for some ideology. This was very rare. You just went in, did what you had to do and left. No speeches about freedom, puppies or burger stands.

AK-74 is otdated already. AK-105 and AN-94, hell yeah! :w00t: Besides, AK-47 was the name of the prototype, serial version was named just "AK". There is no serial AK-47. American intelligence failed. ;p

Oh, now I see the difference. War is like "day job", a-ha... Well, point taken. I guess, it's not necessarily to continue. Enough is enough.
